British singer Adele is continuing to have an amazing year, after breaking chart records with her latest album ’21’. Not only has she received seven nominations for the 2011 MTV VMAs for her single “Rolling in the Deep,” the songstress has also been announced as a performer for the star-studded show. This will be the first time Adele has ever performed at the awards show.
Another singer who has been having a strong comeback year is Chris Brown, who also is up for multiple nominations for his single “Look At Me Now.” This will be only the second time the R&B star has graced the VMA stage, with the first time being back in 2007 with Rihanna.
“I am excited about my nominations and to be back on the VMA stage,” Brown said in a statement. “I have a special performance planned for my wonderful fans.”
Also announced as a performer is rapper Lil Wayne, who is preparing to release his upcoming album ‘Tha Carter IV’ on August 29th.
The 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards will air live on Sunday, August 28th, from the Nokia Theare in Los Angeles at 9PM EST.
