Is Jermaine Dupri having money problems? Last week, the hit music producer almost lost his mansion in foreclosure and now an Atlanta woman is suing him for missed child support payments.
Dupri was ordered back in March 2011 by Fulton County Superior Court Judge Margaret Dorsey to fork over $2,500 a month plus an additional $7,500 to Sarai Jones, after a paternity test proved he was the father of her child.
According to Jones’ attorney, Randy Kessler, Sarai wants Dupri in her 7 month old daughter’s life and wants to “work together to co-parent their beautiful baby girl.”
As far as Dupri’s financial woes, WSB-TV obtained records from the Georgia Department of Revenue, saying that Dupri owes the state more than $493,000 in back taxes for 2007.
The Grammy-winning producer has produced hits for tops stars like Usher and Mariah Carey. In 2006, Forbes.com said Dupri was one of hip-hop’s top earners, taking home $12 million.
