Adele continues to fly high after notching another week atop the Billboard Hot 200 chart. The British soul singer moved another 124,000 copies of her sophomore effort ’21,’ logging her sixth non-consecutive week at No. 1.
R&B crooner Chris Brown moved another 28,000 copies of his latest album F.A.M.E. and sits at No. 6 on the coveted chart. F.A.M.E. also tops the R&B/Hip-Hop albums chart.
Beyonce has added two more big festivals to her summer Line-up. After confirming that she will headline the British festival Glastonbury in June (11), three years after her husband Jay-Z became the first hip-hop act to top the bill, the R&B diva will now play the main stage at Scotland’s T in the Park on July 9th and will then travel to Dublin, Republic of Ireland to top the bill at Oxegen the following night.
In more Beyonce news, the Grammy winner will premiere her version of the patriotic anthem ‘God Bless the USA’ tonight on Piers Morgan’s ‘Tonight’ show. The R&B diva is releasing the song as a single to raise money for the New York Police and Fire Widows and Children’s Benefit Fund. Morgan announced the news via his Twitter page today, saying, “Beyonce is releasing a new song, a cover of ‘God Bless the Usa’, and it will get 1st TV airing on @PiersTonight Cnn 9pm ET”. Morgan also adds, “I just listened to the Beyonce song – and it’s stunning.” The single will be available for purchase on Friday (May 6) via iTunes.
Beyonce’s fourth studio album is scheduled for release in June 2011. The set is lead by the first single “Run The World (Girls),” which debuted at No. 39 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
