Rapper, 50 Cent has recently come to the aid of hip-hop DJ and record producer Mister Cee. The DJ, whose real name is Calvin Lebrun, was spotted performing a sexual act with a 20-year-old male in a car in Manhattan. He was later charged with public lewdness following the arrest.
This scandal has shaken up the rap world and turned many of the famed record producer’s fans against him. 50 Cent however, remains loyal to the iconic DJ. The rapper spoke briefly with New York’s Hot 97 radio personality, Miss Info and said, “I’d make him my DJ any day… It’s only entertaining because he (Mister Cee) means that much to hip-hop culture.”
He added, “I recognize Mister Cee as the guy who offered us Biggie, so he means that much to the culture. And a lot of the kids that hear the radio don’t see him the same way.”
The rapper has been very vocal about his support of Mister Cee and how he values his expert opinion and critique. The rap industry’s stringent views of what defines masculinity are well known. With that being said, how do you feel about the DJ’s fan base turning on him in the wake of his sexual misconduct with another male?
