R&B/Soul singer Jill Scott has something great up her sleeves. The busy entertainer will head back to her hometown of Philadelphia to host the second Blues Babe Foundation fundraiser and silent auction, in an effort to continue empowering communities. âBlues Babe has been a blessing in my life and having the means to give back, empower students and communities is an experience like no other,â Scott said. The event, which will be held at Material Culture, will see all proceeds going to Camp Jill Scott and Blues Babes Music in the Classroom and scholarship fund. Blues Babe, named for Scottâs grandmother, was launched in 2002 to help students in impoverished communities by providing programs that promote leadership and academic excellence. The foundation has been involved with various projects, contributing to a multitude of ventures in Philly. Blues Babe has also donated $100,000 to renovate the Cecil B. Moor Recreation Center.
