Leona Lewis and Joss Stone are doing well in comparison to Europe’s top recording stars. Lewis, an X Factor winner and Grammy Award nominee, tied Charlotte Church and Katherine Jenkins to claim the no.1 spot on the Young Music Millionaires list with $11 million in earnings over the last year. The list, compiled by Dr. Philip Beresford, claims the statistics prove that British women are working harder than ever and no longer need a man to be a success. “The girls are showing you can make it big if you keep trying,” Beresford reveals in the Sunday Times, which publishes the list annually. “It doesn’t matter where you come from. Drive and determination can get you the Hollywood lifestyle.” Craig David, coming in at no. 7 with $8 million, is the top male artist, following Joss Stone with $9 million. Lily Allen, Duffy and Cheryl Cole also made the list.
