Rihanna and Monica have something in common — the top spot on this week’s Billboard charts ! First up, Rihanna earns a second week atop the Billboard Hot 100 with “Rude Boy”. A follow up to the top 10 charting “Hard,” “Rude Boy” fended off advancing singles from B.o.B and Lady Gaga to retain the summit, while gaining airplay over the last week. While news of Rihanna’s second week is big, Monica is this week’s success story on the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart. Earning her first no.1 since 2003’s “So Gone,” Monica moved past Timbaland, Drake and Usher to claim the top spot with “Everything To Me”. The lead single from “Still Standing,” “Everything To Me” has spent nine weeks on the chart, rising each week. This week the single jumped 3-1, after moving six spots (9-3) last week. As previously reported, Monica’s “Still Standing” is set for a top debut on the albums chart next week. Projected to sell up to 185,000 copies, the album is poised to be Monica’s best debut on the Billboard 200 since “After The Storm” claimed the summit in 2003.

It’s not every day that two female artists reach the number one spot on music charts. But Rihanna and Monica have done just that – with songs from “Rude Boy” to “Everything,” they’ve each earned a place at the top of the pops. What’s even more remarkable is how vastly different their musical styles are. From R&B to pop, these two powerhouse vocalists have been able to capture audiences around the world and make it all look effortless! In this article, we take an in-depth look at how Rihanna and Monica went from being unknown singers to chart-topping superstars. We explore why both women stand out among other female musicians and what sets them apart musically. So if you want to learn more about these amazing talents and find out why their music reigns supreme, keep reading!

Chart-Topping Songs

Rihanna and Monica have both seen great success on the music charts, with multiple number one hits. From Rihanna’s 2006 hit “SOS (Rescue Me)” to Monica’s 2002 ballad “All Eyez On Me,” their songs have topped Billboard lists around the world. Both singers are well-known for taking listeners through a range of emotions in their music; from upbeat party anthems to heart-wrenching love songs.

In recent years, Rihanna has released a string of chart-topping singles including her 2012 smash “Diamonds” and her 2016 duet with Drake, “Work”. Meanwhile, Monica is no stranger to producing popular tunes either – she has collaborated with Missy Elliott on several top ten records such as 2003’s “So Gone”. The two singers also share another common thread: they’ve both enjoyed having the number one spot at least once during their career.

Rihanna first achieved this feat back in 2007 when her song “Umbrella” featuring Jay Z reached the top position on over 20 international music charts. Similarly, Monica secured her own place in history by becoming the first artist ever to debut at #1 on the US R&B/Hip Hop Chart with her single “Everything To Me” in 2010. In short, these two talented artists have proved that there is nothing they can’t do when it comes to making successful music.

Rise To Fame

Rihanna and Monica have both had quite the journey to success. Before becoming chart-topping artists, they were each on different paths in life. Rihanna was born in Barbados, where she spent her childhood singing calypso music with her father’s band. In 2003, at just 16 years old, she moved to America to pursue a career in music and eventually signed with Def Jam Recordings two years later.

Monica also began her musical path as a child; growing up in Atlanta listening to gospel music before joining an R&B group called “The Boyz” at age 11. She quickly rose to fame after signing a record deal with Arista Records in 1995 and releasing her debut album Miss Thang that same year. From there, Monica would go on to become one of the biggest names in R&B music over the next decade and beyond.

Both singers’ star power has only grown since their respective debuts – thanks largely due to their ability to continually create hit songs. They’ve proven themselves capable of bringing fans along for the ride no matter what genre or style they choose to tackle; from soulful ballads like ‘Everything To Me’ to club bangers such as ‘Work’. These two talented performers are sure to continue dominating the charts for many more years to come!

Conclusion

It’s no surprise that Rihanna and Monica have made it to the top of the charts. They’ve both worked hard and earned their place in music history. With tunes like “Rude” and “Everything at No.1,” they continue to inspire new generations with their creative talent, strong lyrics, and captivating rhythms.

Their success is a testament to what can be achieved when you put your mind to something. As for us, we’ll keep listening to these two amazing artists as they continue down their path of stardom. Their journey has been inspirational – from humble beginnings to worldwide superstars – and they deserve all the credit they get!

Ultimately, Rihanna and Monica are living proof that anything is possible if you work hard enough and don’t give up on yourself. So take a page out of their book: whatever dream or goal you may have, go after it with everything you’ve got! Who knows? Maybe one day your name will be alongside theirs atop the charts too!
