Grammy Award-winning entertainer Amy Winehouse has been ordered to get some rest after collapsing at a party last week. According to Britain’s Daily Mirror, the star fainted while celebrating the Holiday season with friends at her home in Barnet, North London. “She’s been told to keep a low profile and fully recuperate,” a source tells Daily Mirror. “She has been feeling very ill of late and had a funny turn at home. She is quite unwell and exhausted after recent events but is soldiering on.” While some believe Winehouse’s collapse is related to drug and alcohol abuse, sources say that not is the case. “She’s doing her best to concentrate on her music and not become embroiled in drugs again,” says a source close the singer. “Her new songs are amazing but will be on the back burner until she feels better. The last week has been a massive setback for Amy who was really turning a corner. Everyone in her camp is shocked by what has happened. But their main concern is making sure she feels better. Then she can throw herself into her music. The New Year isn’t getting off to the best start but Amy is determined and she’ll keep looking forward.” Winehouse was charged with common assault and public order offense over an altercation with a theatre manager during a Christmas show earlier this month. She is due in court January 20.
