The next time you see ‘Making the Band 4’ stars and award-winning group Day 26, they’ll be down one member ! Confirming rumblings of a split that first hit the net in November, Willie of Day 26 took to both Twitter and WGCI stating that he and fellow Day 26 members “tried” to keep Qwanell Mosley aka Que in the group before giving him walking papers this week. “It’s funny how people can take sides in a situation without knowing the truth. We tried our a**es off to keep him the group,” Willie Taylor of the group that won its first BET Award for Best Group this year wrote on Twitter Friday. “Ya’ll will soon know the truth,” Taylor later wrote. According to Que, also taking the news to Twitter, Day 26 members and management sent him an official letter booting him from the group earlier this week. Claiming to be surprised over the letter, Que told fans “wow.. im so hurt RT now I just received a letter from day26 saying they r moving forward without me… im so confused.. what did I do?” As previously reported on Singersroom, Day 26 formed under the strong rated MTV reality series, headed by Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, titled “Making The Band 4′. Handpicked by Diddy, the group joined then rising group Danity Kane, ushering in a new era for Diddy’s Bad Boy Records, while also spinning off several seasons of the hit show “Making the Band 4′. Coming to a close in April, Making the Band 4 ended with the official disbandment of Danity Kane and the launch of Day 26’s sophomore effort “Forever In A Day”. While Day 26 had plenty of great times infront of the camera for millions to see on Making the Band 4, fights and temporary hiatuses were seen on the last season of Making the Band 4. Alledging that Que was booted from the group because of his actions and seeming inability to ‘get along’ with others, Willie spoke with WGCI Friday calling the singer a “cancer”. “He was a like a cancer,” said Willie. “We almost lost our deal. There’s a lot of stuff we almost lost because of this dude”. Hitting back, Que alleged that the group was having financial problems and believes he might have been booted after requesting an audit. “All i wanted was a audit of finances for management & instead management put me out..i love day26 & i wish them the best,” said Que. While Que is reportedly out of the group, Willie of Day26 says an album will still be released in 2010. As previously reported, the group is fast at work on an album to be released through Atlantic Records.
