While Kelis reportedly had a number of choices when it came time to sign a recording and distribution deal for her as-yet-untitled 2010 album, the “Acapella” singer believes choosing Black Eyed Peas star/producer Will.I.Am was the right decision. “I think he’s brilliant,” Kelis tells Rap-Up. “Heâs like a musical encyclopedia.” When it comes to taking her sound to the next level, Kelis says Will.I.Am has no problem with pushing the envelope. “Heâs not afraid to push the limits and kinda go further than everyone else and thatâs exciting.” As previously reported, Kelis inked a deal with Will.I.Am/Interscope Records earlier this year. An as-yet-untitled album is slated to be released in 2010, her first since 2006s “Kelis Was Here”.
