After forming under the hit MTV reality series Making the Band 4 and securing their place in R&B with two albums, Day 26 has decided to part ways with Bad Boy Records. Confirming the news Tuesday, Day 26 member Willie Taylor expressed love for their home and mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, but insisted that it is time to move forward. “Bad Boy is always our family, but we’re with Atlantic right now,” Taylor told The Boom Box. Wasting no time in moving forward, the American Music Award nominees and BET Award winners are making plans to hit the studio for a third album early 2010. “We’re going to take the gloves off, really go for it,” said Taylor. “A lot of people thought Day 26 weren’t going to be here but we’re still standing.” At one point Day 26 was signed as Bad Boy/Atlantic. Day 26 will be in good company at Atlantic Records. They join Pleasure P, Toni Braxton and Trey Songz, who also call the label home.
