Ne-Yo’s anticipated song from the forthcoming Disney picture “The Princess and the Frog” has been shipped to radio. Moved to urban radio October 14, the single precedes the release of both the animated feature’s soundtrack and its worldwide premiere in theatres. Titled “Never Knew I Needed,” the song was written by Ne-Yo and will appear in the closing credits when ‘The Princess and the Frog’ debuts in December. As previously reported, the highly anticipated film, featuring the first Disney animated princess of African descent, arrives in theatres December 11. Starring Anika Noni Rose and Jennifer Lewis, among others, ‘The Princess and the Frog’ focuses on a beautiful girl named Tiana (Rose), a frog prince who desperately wants to be human again, and a fateful kiss that leads them both on a hilarious adventure through the mystical bayous of Louisiana. A snippet of Ne-Yo’s song “Never Knew I Needed” along with several cuts from Anika Noni Rose (‘Dreamgirls’) was released earlier this week. Full versions of each song will be made available to the public when the soundtrack arrives in stores November 23.
