While “Down” is riding high at the top of Billboard’s Hot 100, Jay Sean says the song’s sound is not indicative of his forthcoming album “All or Nothing”. In fact, the “My Own Way” singer thinks people will be surprised at first listen. “I think people might say âyo. I didnât know Jay got down like that or I didnât know you would talk about stuff like that or sing or have lyrics that way,” Jay Sean tells Singersroom. Set for release November 24, Jay Sean’s forthcoming album is a fresh start in more ways than one. Not only is the effort his first U.S. release and first release on Cash Money, the album will be his first effort to be tinged with a more soulful sound. “Thereâs a bit more of a soulful way of singing on this album,” says Jay Sean. Linking up with Cool & Dre, Akon, Sean Paul, Keisha Buchanan of the Sugababes, Livvi Franc, Kevin Rudolph, Drake and Birdman, Jay Sean’s “All or Nothing” promises to be more diverse — something the chart-topper hopes fans will enjoy and recognize. “I just want people to be able to hear the diversity of the album.”
