Jay Sean has officially been dubbed the most successful male UK urban artist in U.S. chart history. According to BBC, Sean’s single “Down (ft. Lil Wayne)” has sold a million copies and been at number two for the past three weeks and in the top 10 for six weeks, making it a record breaking success. While successful male UK urban artist Craig David reached unforeseen heights with “Born To Do It,” BBC says Jay Sean’s six week grip on the Hot 100 is unprecedented. While Jay Sean is elated with the news, there is much more ahead, including the release of his stateside (U.S.) debut “All or Nothing”. Speaking with Singersroom, Jay Sean offered insight into the forthcoming release. Calling the effort “a bit more… soulful,” Jay Sean says “I think people might say âyo. I didnât know Jay got down like that or I didnât know you would talk about stuff like that or sing or have lyrics that wayâ. Thereâs a bit more of a soulful way of singing on this album.” In the end, Jay Sean says “I just want people to be able to hear the diversity of the album.”
