Ruben Studdard has lent his pen and voice to Be Sickle Smart, a nationwide health education program aimed at increasing awareness of iron overload among people living with sickle cell. Co-writing a new song titled “I’m A Fighter,” Studdard is set to perform in support of the organization via ‘Empowerment Days’. Slated to kick off September 19th in Memphis, TN, the ‘Empowerment Days’ tour will provide concert attendees with an iron-overload education presentation and free iron-overload screenings. In related news, Ruben Studdard has also been named the official spokespersonfor BSS (Be Sickle Smart). Studdard’s latest album, “Love IS,” was released via Hickory Records in May.
