Lady Gaga is ready to take on the MTV Video Music Awards with a performance that everyone will remember for some time. Speaking with Newsweek, Gaga proclaimed a desire to not only put on a good show but, to dominate the stage when the VMA’s air Sunday. “I sort of have this philosophy about things: there’s never a reason to do something unless it’s going to be memorable, unless it’s going to change things, unless it’s going to inspire a movement. With the song and with the performance, I hope to say something very grave about fame and the price of it,” says Gaga. As previously reported, Lady Gaga joins Jay Z and Beyonce, who are also slated to perform during Sunday’s show. The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards air Sunday, September 13 at 9pm.
