Tyler Perry has been revealed as one of Hollywood’s top 15 highest paid men according to Forbes ! Perry, known widely for films and stage plays including Why Did I Get Married, Madea’s Family Reunion, and The Family That Preys, not only made the list but beat out veterans including Harrison Ford in 2008. According to Forbes, Perry earned $75 million, placing him just outside the top five that includes Dr. Phil ($80 million) and chart-topper George Lucas ($170 million). “His deal with distributor Lionsgate allows Perry to keep much of the money from his films. Perry also had a surprise cameo in this summer’s Star Trek reboot,” says Forbes. Perry’s next project, “I Can Do Bad All By Myself,” starring Mary J Blige and Gladys Knight is due in theaters September 11. In related news, Tyler Perry is tied with American Idol’s controversial judge Simon Cowell. The noted AI judge took in $75 million in 2008. That figure is however, expected to double in 2010 if Cowell receives a rumored $100 million – $144 million contract extension!
