Maxwell has claimed the no.1 spot on this week’s coveted Billboard 200 albums chart, thanks to the debut of “BlackSummers’Night” ! The album, Maxwell’s first release since 2001’s “Now,” moved 316,000 copies in the United States alone, reports Nielsen Soundscan. Part of a trilogy due to be released over the next few years, Maxwell’s new disc features the Urban AC charting singles “Bad Habits” and “Pretty Wings”. Speaking with Singersroom, Maxwell admits the anticipated album is not a one man show. In fact, he credits the musicians behind the project for being “at the top of their game”. “I made this album and these albums (ie: “Now” and “Embrya”) with the assistance of so many great people. Musicians on this album are at the top of their game. To be in that zone or that place where youâre just making music because you really love it⦠you can tell the difference,” says Maxwell. “Blacksummers’Night” is available in stores and through digital retailers now.
