Noted publication Ebony magazine will release a special edition issue celebrating the life of Michael Jackson July 13. The issue, at 100 pages, will feature never before seen photos, celebrity tributes and 5,000 words from the late King of Pop himself. “Michael was a genius. Michael was a researcher. He’d study, study, study. He was one of the greatest listeners I know,” said Berry Gordy, in one of the many celebrity tributes. According to EBONY, Quincy Jones, Ne-Yo, Jesse Jackson, Suzanne de Passe, and Smokey Robinson are among those who have contributed to the issue. EBONY reportedly dug deep into its archives to bring forth never seen before photos from the very start of Jackson’s career and long standing relationship with Johnson Publishing (Ebony/Jet). The issue, titled ‘Michael: In His Own Words,’ arrives on news stands July 13.
