The R&B Hippie NeoSoul Rockstar returns with a brand new mixtape titled “The Art of Noise” Tuesday ! Taking inspiration from Barack Obama, Raheem Devaughn is giving back in his own unique way by releasing this free mixtape. Featuring 15 original unreleased tracks, DeVaughn’s “The Art of Noise” is the first project to come from his recently launched record label venture, 368 MUSIC GROUP. Sometimes referred to as the Marvin Gaye of our day, Raheem DeVaughn says he feels compelled to give back during these trying times. “This current climate that we live in, affects me too. If my fans lose their jobs and their homes, and canât put food on the table, they definitely cannot buy my music. They should not have to make that choice. Many of my fans tell me that they love me and Iâve always said that I love them back. This is my way of showing them that love. I want to show love to my fans by giving them the Raheem DeVaughn music that they want.” Raheem DeVaughn has released two albums under Jive Records, his first project, The Love Experience, was released in 2005. His sophomore project, Love Behind the Melody, was released in 2008 and came in at no. 5 on the Billboard Top 200 and no.1 on the Top R&B/HipHop Albums chart. DeVaughn has received high awards and honors including a 2008 Grammy nomination for Best Male Vocal Performance and a 2009 Grammy nomination for Best R&B Song âCustomerâ. With this new project, DeVaughn aims to introduce his music to a broader audience while offering his fans a worthy teaser as they await his highly anticipated third album, The Love and War MasterPeace, due out later this year.
