In addition to there being a plethora of award ceremonies, including the MTV’s Movie Awards where Eminem got a special taste of “smack that” and Halle Berry’s shocking kiss with Jamie Foxx, the weekend belonged to everyone from Omarion to Kimora Lee and Djimon Hounsou. After speculation arose late last week, Omarion took to his Twitter page to confirm that he is indeed signed to Lil Wayne’s Young Money ! “Thanks 4 all tha love yall! Young Money! Omarion!! You will believe and see God’s power!! I’m so humble and I kant wait 2 give yall tha new me,” Omarion tweeted. Rumors of Omarion’s signing kicked off with an alleged tweet (on twitter) from Tyrese Gibson to the former “O” singer’s page. Congratulating Omarion, Tyrese reportedly wrote “Congrats on Omarion signing his new deal with Young Money! this is gonna be a big year for you!! younng mula baby”. Of course, Omarion had signed a deal with Timbaland’s Mosley label last year — no word on what happened there. Omarion released a track titled “Comfort” earlier this year. Ironically, “Comfort” features Lil Wayne… The “Touch” and “Entourage” singer joins Hip Hop recording star Drake at Young Money. In other news, Kimora Lee and Djimon Hounsou welcomed a baby boy over the weekend. Like Erykah Badu, Lee announced the birth Saturday on her Twitter feed. A representative for Lee says both she and her newborn son are doing great. The fashion mogul/reality star has two daughters with Hip Hop mogul Russell Simmons, whom she divorced in 2008 after seven years of marriage. This is the Hounsou’s first child. Back on the award show front, BET has amped up its BET Awards line up, this time adding two Hip Hop stars. According to the network, Kanye West and Soulja Boy will grace the stage at this year’s awards, slated to take place Sunday, June 28. West and Soulja Boy join Beyonce, The-Dream, Ne-Yo, Maxwell and Eminem. Click Here for a list of this year’s nominees.
