R&B singers Ne-Yo and Maxwell have signed on for this year’s anticipated BET Awards ! Ne-Yo, coming off the Platinum selling album “The Year of the Gentleman,” will reportedly join Maxwell and several soon to be announced performers set to take the stage on Sunday, June 28. This year’s BET Awards will be held at the Shrine Auditiorium and will also be hosted by comedian, actor and Billboard chart-topping recording artist Jamie Foxx ! Foxx, who follows past hosts Will & Jada Smith, Monique and Damon Wayans, is just one of many celebrities who will descend on the annual starfest. “Quite frankly, no one will be ready for what’s coming this year! First of all, triple-threat Jamie Foxx is hosting as well as performing the number one hit of the year,” says Stephen Hill, President, Music Programming and Specials, BET Networks. In addition to the aformentioned performers and host, the BET Awards will also celebrate the musical legacy and contributions of the soul trio, the O’Jays who will be presented with this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
