Earth, Wind and Fire was presented with honors at the 2009 TV Land Awards for their brand of unmatched talent recently. According to organizers, the iconic group picked up the annual Entertainer Award, dedicated only to entertainers whose fame and longevity are immeasurable. The presentation of the award can be seen during the forthcoming special presentation of the 2009 TV Land Awards set for Sunday, April 26 at 8pm via TV Land Prime. Award-winning actress Angela Bassett was asked to present the award to EWF’s Verdine White, Philip Bailey and Ralph Johnson. In related news, Earth Wind and Fire bassist Verdine White recently premiered his own line of eyewear in association with Vavas Diamond Eyewear. Titled the “Verdine White Series of Vavas Diamond Eyewear” by Jonny Vavas of SLG Diamonds Inc., the eyewear will benefit the Verdine White foundation, which provides musical education to underprivileged and gifted students.
