Chart-topping singer/songwriter Keri Hilson says just because you’ve made it to the top, it doesn’t mean the struggle is over ! “People say once I make it I don’t have to deal with (problems) anymore â oh no honey, you got plenty more you’re going to have to deal with,” says the “Turnin’ Me On” singer. For Hilson, the road to the albums chart has been a ride to say the least — especially after experiencing a series of album delays. But the former “Energy” singer says survival and perseverance is all about “learning” and taking “preventative measures” to avoid problems within the music industry. As for the album delays, Hilson tells the AP she’s happy a lot of records stood the test of time: “I was very excited that we didn’t have to rush my project and that the label cared enough about it to make sure it had a proper release.” Thanks to perseverance and a list of remixes and singles, Hilson’s “In A Perfect World” arrived with over 93,000 copies sold in it’s first week. Keri Hilson’s debut “In A Perfect World” is in stores now, featuring Keyshia Cole, Lil Wayne, Polow Da Don, Kanye West and Trina. Watch the video for Hilson’s “Knock You Down” w/ Kanye West HERE.
