Sandcastle Disco singer Solange Knowles is reportedly safe and sound at Geffen/Interscope this week, contrary to reports suggesting the end of her recording contract due to poor album sales. In a story released earlier this week through BV Buzz, Knowles was said to be a pleasure to work with at Geffen/Interscope but a lack of sales from the heavily promoted album “Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams” created disinterest in signing the singer for a second album. According to Music World Entertainment, Knowles is very much signed to Geffen/Interscope at present time: “Contrary to rumors floating through the internet over the last few days, Solange remains a part of the Interscope Geffen A&M family. It’s unfortunate that people have posted false information without checking their sources first.” Backing the Interscope statement, Knowles father/manager went on to issue a statement calling his artist’s achievements “remarkable”. “Our joint venture with Music World and Interscope/Geffen/A&M is very much in place with Solange. Her remarkable achievements speak for themselves.” Music World Entertainment can not comment further on the inaccurate business and personal accusations as reported by the online gossip columns and blogs because of pending legal action. Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams is an international critically acclaimed album that produced major #1 hit singles on multiple charts. The current single T.O.N.Y is co-written by Ceelo of Gnarls Barkley and Solange. Ceelo along with Kid Cudi make guest appearances in the music video. The single has just been launched at radio with over 3.2 million in audience and growing daily. T.O.N.Y is #3 on Billboard’s Dance Club Chart and sales are up 165% this week at iTunes.” What Music World fails to mention however, as pointed out by BV Buzz’s source, are Knowles album sales. Since Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams’ release in August of 2008, the album, nor any of Solange’s other efforts including singles, has not been certified either Gold or Platinum by the RIAA however, “…Hadley St. Dreams” spawned the Billboard Hot Dance Play and Hot R&B/Hip Hop songs charting “I Decided”. “I Decided” peaked at no.1 on Billboard’s Hot Dance Club Play chart and no.44 on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs Chart”. “Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams” is Knowles follow up to 2003’s “Solostar”.
