By the age of 13, Anita had already developed an extraordinary vocal range and was performing with local bands throughout Detroit. In 1983, after years of hard work on the club circuit, Anita released her debut solo album titled ‘The Songstress.’ The record earned critical acclaim for its soulful sound and distinctive production style.

Her third release ‘Giving You the Best That I Got’ (1988) contained two Grammy Award-winning tracks: ‘Just Because’ and title track ‘Giving You the Best That I Got’. This made Anita one of only five female artists to win back-to-back Grammys at that time. Building upon this success, she continued releasing chart topping albums such as ‘Compositions’ (1990), ‘Rhythm Of Love’ (1994) and ‘My Everything’ (2004).

Throughout her career Anita has sold millions of records worldwide; earning numerous awards such as eight Grammy Awards, three American Music Awards and multiple Billboard Music Awards. Continuing her run of success, she released albums like ‘Giving You The Best That I Got’ (1988), ‘Compositions’ (1990), ‘Rhythm Of Love’ (1994) and ‘My Everything’ (2004).
