Soulful singer/songwriter Smokey Robinson has teamed up with BRIT Award-winning songstress Joss Stone for the American Idol premiered single “You’re The Only One For Me”! “My pet name for her is Aretha Joplin,” says Robinson. Robinson, a recent Hollywood Walk of Fame honoree, performed the single with Joss Stone on Thursday’s episode of American Idol calling the singer “Beautiful inside and out”. Also participating as a mentor during last week’s “Motown” week on American Idol, Robinson admonished the show and its producers stating: “American Idol is the greatest platform for up and coming young talent in the history of music.” According to Robinson, the new single, available through iTunes and Amazon, is the first cut from his forthcoming as-yet-untitled album due this summer.
