An early morning armed robbery involving Akon’s producer Detail is said to have stemmed from an ongoing financial feud between Akon’s team and Suge Knight. According to a report issued by TMZ this afternoon, a group of five men broke into the home of one of Akon’s entourage members with guns drawn demanding that debt owed to notorious Death Row Records mogul Suge Knight be paid. Sources say Detail (the producer) owed Knight money and the men were there to collect by any means necessary. By the time police showed up nearly $300,000 worth of jewelry, items in a safe and keys to a Mercedes had been stolen. There is no word as to if Akon knew of the debt however, sources say the dispute began in Arizona during NBA All-Star weekend when Suge Knight was assaulted by two men who worked for Akon over the alleged debt.
