Don Cornelius has been sentenced to three years probation after entering a ‘no contest’ plea Wednesday. Cornelius, widely known as the host and producer of the iconic series ‘Soul Train,’ will reportedly serve 300 hours of community service and pay a $1,000 fine in connection with misdemeanor spousal battery charges. The 72-year-old television host was originally charged with spousal battery, assault with a deadly weapon and dissuading a witness from making a police report in November after his wife Victoria pressed charges. According to published reports, several charges were dismissed as part of Cornelius’ plea agreement. He has also been ordered not to use threats or force against anyone, including his wife, and must attend a yearlong domestic violence course. Cornelius has also been ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from the Mulholland estate where the attack took place. A protective order is also in place.
