Blige is taking on Hollywood via Tyler Perry’s forthcoming film “I Can Do Bad All By Myself” and a popular primetime television series. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Blige will portray Tanya, a nightclub manager and singer in Perry’s new flick, a reincarnation of the playwright/director’s play of the same name. Blige joins an already stellar cast including Taraji P. Henson and soul/jazz icon Gladys Knight. In related news, the former “Be Without You” singer is set to appear in a popular primetime television series later this year in addition to releasing the anticipated follow up to 2007s “Growing Pains”. “I Can Do Bad All By Myself” is slated for nationwide release September 11, 2009.
