My Love singer The-Dream says Christina Milian deserves a hug after experiencing trouble with her career in recent years. However, the way the hit producer said she deserves a hug raised a few eyebrows in light of Chris Brown, Rihanna and now Gospel singer BeBe Winans’ alleged domestic violence issues. Speaking with Hot 97’s Angie Martinez The-Dream said “(The way) us blacks show our love is by beating up on you real good…” when asked about Christina Milian’s troubled career prior to signing with his imprint RadioKilla. The former “Falsetto” singer went on to say “it’s like a brother/sister thing.. You just beat them and then just hug them at the end”. “We just have to get to the point where she gets a hug. You have to do something great in order for that to happen”. (see video below) While The-Dream’s words were not necessarily malicious, some may say the words were in poor taste. Regardless, The-Dream is moving forward with Christina Milians project and says the album was done in “four weeks”. According to The-Dream, he has the hits for Milian to “do something great”. With several songs on the charts now and credits on Beyonce’s “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” and Rihanna’s “Umbrella” it’s safe to say the Def Jam star just might be on to something. In related news, The-Dream’s new album “Love Vs. Money” was released Tuesday featuring the singles “My Love” and “Rockin’ That Sh**”. “Love Vs. Money’ also includes collaborative efforts with Kanye West and Lil Jon. BTW Dream…we understand what you mean…but not everyone is as understanding
