Former American Idol champ and R&B singer Ruben Studdard is back and ready to sing about love — especially since he tied the knot in 2008. Studdard, who was released from a recording contract with J Records in 2007, is moving forward with the follow up to 2006’s “Change Me” titled “Love IS”. “Love IS,” led by the single “Together” will reportedly hit stores March 17th but can be streamed via AOL Music starting today. While the singer is primed for a comeback, some are asking the question… has the Velvet Teddy Bear’s time run out ? For those questioning, Ruben’s new single “Together” (now streaming on his Myspace page), says “I’m gonna be the one that’s going to last”. Speaking via his Myspace page Thursday, Studdard says “For all of you who said “I wish Ruben would just sing me a love song” this album is just for you.” “My first single “Together” will be going to radio this week and I am so excited. This song was produced by Stargate, who also produced ” One Side of the Story” from my last album.” “Love IS,” which also features production from Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, hits stores and digital retailers May 19th via Hickory Records/19.
