Chris Hicks, a former Atlantic Records executive, has been named executive Vice President at Def Jam Records. According to published reports, Hicks will replace his late friend and former Def Jam VP Shakir Stewart who shockingly committed suicide this past November. Hicks, an Atlanta resident, got his start in the music business with his own company, Noontime. According to MTV News, Hicks will report directly to Island Def Jam chairman L.A. Reid.
