R&B/pop singer Christina Milian is speaking up in Rap Up magazine’s winter 08/09 issue — this time the “Us Against The World” singer is setting the record straight. Calling the publicized drop from Def Jam the most “embarrassing” point in her life, Christina Milian gets candid with Rap-Up. At one point the singer admits “I would be in my room a lot of the time crying by myself.” Milian wasn’t the only one dropped during a period she says was full of budget cuts, R&B singer Tearri Mari also felt the brunt of the ax. “It was a budget cut, I believe,” says Milian. “Probably got rid of projects like mine to spend the money on Rihanna.” Since 2005 Rihanna has been Def Jam’s leading pop sensation, releasing several chart-topping singles including “Take A Bow” and “Umbrella,” while Milian has remained nearly silent since being dropped. Things are looking up for the former “Dip It Low” singer. She is now signed to Myspace Records and has a new single entitled “Us Against The World”. Milian says “I’m not going to let these people hold me down. It’s time.” For more on Christina Milian’s exclusive chat session with Rap-Up pick up the winter 08/09 issue on newsstands now.
