Monica is ready for the New Year and everything that comes with it, including “Lessons Learned,” her highly anticipated album. “As soon as you throw up some confetti, your girl will be on shelves,” Monica shared via Youtube recently. Monica’s forthcoming project, kicked off by the internet single “Still Standing,” becomes a follow up to 2006’s “The Makings of Me”. Executive Produced by Bryan Michael Cox, “Lessons Learned” features collaborations with Stargate, Keyshia Cole and Missy Elliott. “She wanted to talk about what sheâs been through, her love life, and the business – the ups and downs of it,” Bryan Michael Cox told Singersroom recently. “She wanted to make more straight on R&B joints like what sheâs 100% known for. I think weâre achieving it.” While an official release has yet to be announced, Monica’s album is slated for release early 2009.
