BET is slated to pay homage to Mary J. Blige, Tyler Perry, and Earvin “Magic” Johnson at its 2nd Annual BET Honors event next month. Hosted by Gabrielle Union, ‘The BET Honors’ program recognizes excellence in achievement and celebrates inspiration. In addition to Blige, Perry and Johnson, dancer and choreographer Judith Jamison; entreprenuer extraordinaire B. Smith; and the Honorable Congressman James E. Clyburn will be honored at the ceremony. The 2nd Annual ‘BET Honors’ will take place at the Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, January 17 and premiere on BET during Black History Month on Monday, Feb. 9 at 9pm ET. “We are thrilled to kick off this historic inauguration weekend with the return of THE BET HONORS, a truly inspirational event that pays tribute to extraordinary individuals in our community,” said Debra L.
