After a very shocking Grammy snub, Erykah Badu gained some sort of relief today as her 2008 effort “New Amerykah, Part One (4th World War)” was noted among the best of this years albums. Listed at no.1 on the Associated Press’ Top 10 Albums of 2008, Badu’s set was noted as “an eclectic, absorbing jam session.” Featuring the single “Honey,” Badu’s set had been critically acclaimed as previously noted in Singersroom’s Grammy Row 08 review. The Associated Press goes on to say “We are already desperately awaiting part two.” Estelle, Lil Wayne, Anthony Hamilton and Jazmine Sullivan are also featured on the top 10 list as follows: 2. Estelle “Shine” 3. Sia “Some People Have Real Problems” 4. Kanye West “808s & Heartbreak” 5. Jazmine Sullivan “Fearless” 6. Lil Wayne “The Carter III” 7. Taylor Swift “Fearless” 8. Anthony Hamilton “The Point of it All” 9. My Morning Jacket “Evil Urges” 10. Mariah Carey “E=MC2” Al Green’s “Lay It Down” was also noted under ‘Honorable Mention’.
