The photographer at the center of the $1 million lawsuit against Chris Brown and Rihanna has come forward with his account of what has been called a ‘million dollar beatdown.’ “They chased me away from the limo. They grabbed me and threw me down, wrestled the camera away from me. I grabbed the phone to call the police and tried to get the license number for the limo,” Luis Santana told St. Petersburg/Tampa Bay radio station WILD 98.7. Known for taking photos at WildSplash and Last Damn Show, events sponsored by the station, Santana is reportedly a well known and respected photographer in the area. “I was actually invited to the club,” Santana said detailing the night when his camera was reportedly destroyed. “Chris Brown celebrating his 19th Birthday with Rihanna is a big news for St. Petersburg.” (Listen Below) “When I got to the limo I asked Chris if I could take a picture for the St. Pete newspaper and he said fine. Then the security guards pushed me away and said no pictures.” Snapping a photo of the then rumored couple, Santana says: “When I took the picture of them in the back of the limo, Chris got out of the limo and I ran when the security guards starting coming after me saying “get him, get him, get him” — it was all the security detail after me.” According to the St. Petersburg Times, Santana’s $1 million suit includes damages to his camera along with pain and suffering. Santana says: “They just chased me. They said get the camera, get the camera.” “Originally I thought they would say delete the photo.” “I was invited there. I was polite and they just totally caused a ruckus.”
