Wax on, Wax Off… Will Smith’s son Jaden is headed straight to the dojo. The 10 year old, introduced in “The Pursuit of Happyness,” is set to star in an updated version of the hit 1984 film ‘The Karate Kid’ reports Variety. Produced by Jerry Weintraub, Overbrook Entertainment and Smith’s ‘blockbuster-busting’ father Will Smith, ‘The Karate Kid’ is set to start filming next year in Beijing. While the new film will be set in exotic locales, it will still borrow elements from the original plot, wherein a bullied youth learns to stand up for himself with the help of an eccentric mentor. I wonder who’s going to play an updated version of Mr. Miyagi.. What do you think about a Karate Kid update, can the Smith’s pull it off ?
