Embarking on a solo career post Pretty Ricky, Pleasure P, the R&B star of the group says “I’m in my own lane musically — I’m grown up now.” Tapping producers like Rico love, Dre and Vidal, Cool and Dre, Tank and Jim Jonsin for “The Introduction of Marcus Cooper,” his debut album, Pleasure P is ready and willing to take on his critics and fellow R&B male artists early next year. “I’m talking about things that average R&B guys don’t talk about but that average people can relate to. Pretty Ricky was overly raunchy, young and with no direction. Now, my music is classier and I’ll tell you exactly how it is.” This summer the R&B star told fans exactly how it was with “Did You Wrong,” a single about a rocky relationship. While the first single talked about getting back to love, Pleasure P shares many tried and true stories about falling in love and being an unfaithful boyfriend with the help of Keith Sweat, the late Static Major and Rex, the latter of whom penned “Did You Wrong.” “The whole album is like one long relationship, where you contradict yourself a lot and say you won’t do things you do end up doing,” Pleasure P told Billboard recently. “The Introduction of Marcus Cooper” is slated for release early 2009.
