Ludacris’ latest film ‘Max Payne’ finished a top this weekend’s box office. ‘Max Payne,’ which also stars Mark Wahlberg raked in $18 million, easily beating Oliver Stone’s presidential biopic ‘W.,’ which earned $10.6 million. Based on the blockbuster video game of the same name, ‘Max Payne’ weaves the sordid tale of a New York City DEA agent (Wahlberg) who seeks revenge upon those who are responsible for the brutal slaying of his wife and his partner. The 20th Century Fox film, also starring Mila Kunis, Chris O’Donnell, and Beau Bridges, had a budget of $35 million. Walt Disney’s canine comedy ‘Beverly Hills Chihuahua, ‘ starring Drew Barrymore, Jamie Lee Curtis, Andy Garcia and George Lopez, finished at No. 2 with $11.2 million. The film has so far earned $69 million. The star-studded civil rights era drama ‘The Secret Life of Bees’ finished the weekend in the third spot with $11.1 million, studio estimates showed. The Fox Searchlight Pictures flick, based on a New York Times best selling novel, stars Queen Latifah, Dakota Fanning, Jennifer Hudson, Alicia Keys, Tristan Wilds and Paul Bettany.
