Don Cornelius, the producer and former host of “Soul Train,” was arrested at his San Fernando Valley home Friday night on suspicion of domestic violence, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Around 7 p.m., officers were called to respond to Cornelius’ home for a domestic incident, according to LAPD spokeswoman Officer Norma Eisenman. After investigating, they arrested Cornelius, 72, for felony domestic violence and brought him to the Van Nuys jail, setting bail at $50,000. He was released from a LAPD jail Saturday morning after posting $50,000 bail and faces felony domestic violence charges, police said. The LAPD has not release the name of the victim or the nature of the injuries but Cornelius is married. Cornelius created and hosted “Soul Train” 1971 to 1996. He closed each show with the catch-phrase, “Love, peace and soul!”
