With just a few months to go before her big screen debut in ‘Notorious,’ former 3LW recording star Naturi Naughton has signed on to star in MGM’s film adaptation of the hit 1980 Musical “Fame.” Joining a cast that includes Walter Perez, Paul McGill and Kherington Payne, Naturi will play the role of Denise, a multi-talented classical pianist. Much like the Oscar-winning original, directed by Alan Parker, the story will track the failures and fortunes of ambitious young performers and their teachers as they navigate a school year at the prestigious High School for the Performing Arts in New York. ‘Fame’ is to begin shooting later this year. As previously announced on Singersroom, Naughton portrays Lil’ Kim in the upcoming ‘Notorious B.I.G.’ flick that also stars Angela Bassett, Anthony Mackie, Derek Luke and Marc John Jeffries.
