Come November, John Legend and Anthony Hamilton’s authentic brand of soul will be on full display in Soul Men. In addition to music from the late Stax Records legend Isaac Hayes, Legend and Hamilton provide what becomes consistent throughout the soundtrack to the motion picture Soul Men, which hits theaters November 7th. Interestingly enough, John Legend also appears in the highly anticipated film. The Grammy Award winner plays the role of Marcus Hooks, one-fourth of the fictitious group: The Real Deal that includes Bernie Mac, Issac Hayes and Samuel L. Jackson. When Hooks (Legend) leaves to pursue a successful solo career, Mac (Floyd Henderson) and Jackson (Louis Hinds) attempt to continue with dismal results. The death of Marcus sparks a reunion between the two who havent spoken in twenty years; Soul Men (which also stars Sean Hayes, Jennifer Coolidge and Sharon Leal, who plays Jacksons daughter) follows the hilarious escapades of the two former partners as they finally come back together for Marcus funeral service at New Yorks Apollo Theater. Soul Men will be released November 7, 2008 nationwide and teh soundtrack will be available November 4th on Stax Records. ‘Soul Men’ Soundtrack Tracklisting: 1. Soul Music Anthony Hamilton 2.
