Hip Hop Veteran and Actor Sticky Fingaz is slated to make his directorial debut with “A Day In The Life,” a film starring Mekhi Phifer, Omar Epps and Fredro Starr early next year. After starring both on the small screen in “Blade: The Series” and in major films such as “Doing Hard Time” Onyx rapper-turned-actor, Kirk “Sticky Fingaz” Jones has made a move to the director’s seat in the upcoming film titled A Day In The Life. Written, produced and directed by Sticky Fingaz, A Day In The Life, consisting of rap dialogue, features a who’s who of Hollywood talent including Mekhi Phifer, Omar Epps, Bokeem Woodbine, Michael Rapaport, Faizon Love, Malinda Williams, Treach, Tyrin Turner, Drena De Niro (Robert De Niroâs daughter), Clarence Williams III, Ray J, Sticky Fingaz, Fredro Starr and more. While it might be considered a âmovie musical or a hip-hop opera,â Sticky Fingaz describes it as âGodfather Meets Romeo & Juliet.â When asked why he decided against straight dialogue, he explains, âIâm an artist and I create music and at the same time, Iâm an actor so it made sense to try something innovative and merge the two together. Weâll be doing the same with Onyxâs Black Rock album, merging hip-hop and rock. Itâs a way of tapping into both sides of myself.â Due for release in early 2009, A Day In the Life will be released through Sticky Fingaz’s production company, Major Independents in association with Lionsgate. In related news, Onyx’s latest effort “Cold Case Files” is in stores now.
