Ne-Yo issued an apology to fans who went out to buy his new album âYear of The Gentlemanâ this week, only to find that it had been moved to a September 16th release date. âTo everybody that went to the store in August, I just want to personally apologize for the confusion and the delay. I just had to make sure it was RIGHT RIGHT ya know??â says Ne-Yo from his Year of the Gentleman blog. The new album which features âCloserâ and the new single âMiss Independentâ is now set for release September 16th. A diverse, âfeel goodâ and classy number, âYear of the Gentlemanâ has become one of this yearâs most highly anticipated albums, Ne-Yo even says âI put my foot in this one!â Following his chart topping smash âCloser,â which topped the UK charts last month, Ne-Yo is now focused on his ode to the hardworking woman with âMiss Independentâ â the second single. âI think that 2008/2009 and beyond, women should stand up nâ let the fellas know that they can ball out too, take pride in the fact that your car, crib, babyâs clothes, EVERYTHING is on you, and you got it!!!â âMiss Independentâ is currently making strides at radio with plans for a video to hit major networks in a few weeks. The singer/songwriter has confirmed a remix with actor/singer/producer Jamie Foxx, which will be released soon. In case you missed it, âYear of the Gentlemanâ hits stores September 16th !
