You can count on at least three more years of Madea ! Tyler Perry has inked a new deal with Lionsgate which allows the actor/producer to release at least three new films from the studio in addition to the upcoming film âThe Family That Preys.â According to the Hollywood Reporter, Lionsgate will also continue to handle Perry’s additional multimedia output, including DVDs. Through Lionsgate, Perry has released “Madea’s Family Reunion,” “Daddy’s Little Girls,” “Why Did I Get Married?” and “Meet the Browns,” which combined have grossed hundreds of millions of dollars at the boxoffice and on DVD. Perryâs next film âThe Family That Preysâ features Academy Award-winner Kathy Bates and Academy Award-nominee Alfre Woodard who star as the matriarchs of two very different families being torn apart by greed and scandal. Also Perryâs sixth feature film, âThe Family That Preysâ chronicles the inner workings of two families one upper-crust and the other working class that become inextricably linked by scandal. Rockmond Dunbar, Cole Hauser, Sanaa Lathan and Taraji P. Henson also star in the film, slated to hit theaters September 12th. In related news, Perry’s TBS series “House of Payne,” also distributed by Lionsgate, moves to syndication on Fox in September.
