R&B/Soul singer Joss Stone has found a new home at Showtime, by the end of the summer the singer, whose hits include âYou Had Meâ and âSpoiled,âwill don English attire fitting of a royal queen on the networks hit drama âThe Tudors.â Stone, a popular British Soul and R&B singer makes her acting debut as Anne of Cleves, the fourth wife of Henry VIII on the third season of the drama which is loosely based on the early reign of English monarch Henry VIII according to the Hollywood Reporter. A daughter of a German nobleman, Anne was betrothed to Henry in a marriage treaty between the Cleves Court and the king’s chancellor after Henry was shown a portrait of her. Upon Anne’s arrival to England, Henry was disappointed in her looks and soon found a legal way to have the marriage annulled. According to Showtime, the upcoming season of the racy royal drama will follow the king as he weds third queen Jane Seymour (Anita Briem) and then Anne of Cleves. Stone, who has released three albums in the U.S. including her 2003 multi-platinum debut album, The Soul Sessions, is currently working on her fourth album. The third season of âThe Tudorsâ is currently in production and is slated to air during the first quarter of 2009.
