At least half a dozen soul-stirring singers will pay tribute to Patti Labelle at this yearâs United Negro College Fund’s “An Evening of Stars, organizers revealed Friday. As previously reported on Singersroom, Labelle will be recognized for her career achievements and longtime support of the educational organization at the annual âAn Evening With Starsâ event slated for September 13th. Anita Baker, Joss Stone, Jennifer Hudson, Dionne Warwick, Fantasia and Yolanda Adams are all among performers set to help honor Labelle. Previous UNCF honorees include Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Quincy Jones and Lou Rawls. Brian McKnight and Wayne Brady are also slated to perform at the event which will air in January.
