Solange Knowles continues to prove that she is a multi-tasker, the âI Decidedâ singer/songwriter made her directorial debut when she took control of the video for her second single âSandcastle Discoâ recently. In her directorial debut Solange, who also co-wrote Beyonceâs hit single âGet Me Bodied,â wrote the treatment for âSandcastle Disco,â the second single from her album due next month. Taking fans on a roller coaster ride through cutting edge and inventive abstract visuals Knowles says âItâs a living pop up book…. each page folding over and zooming into the next. The colors are vivid, I used many references from the movie Across The Universe that are links in the treatment and also the HP commercials we’ve seen running with Jay-Z and Serena Williams.â Written by Cee-Lo, âSandcastle Discoâ was shot July 15th and is expected to hit major networks within the next few weeks, just in time for the singerâs sophomore release âSoL-AngeL & The Hadley St. Dreams due August 26th.
